What is data transfer (bandwidth)?
Data transfer relates to the amount of data sent between your website and your visitor's computers
Every part of your website such as text, images and video count towards your bandwidth total.
If you exceed the allocated maximum bandwidth for your package, then you will be charged at £5.00 per 500MB of data exceeded. If you find that you are exceeding your limit every month, then we can discuss moving you upto a more advanced package.

If you want to use a database with your website, then you will need to use this language to fully interact with the database.

MySQL is an award winning multi user database with a long history of being fast and reliable. It is extremely scalable supporting websites from the smallest project to international company sites.
All our packages except email onlyinclude at least one MySQL database
The database(s)can be administered from your control panel.
Web hosting is the process of renting space on a server computer where your own web content can be stored.
A Web host provides this space and takes care of maintaining the server on which the content is stored.

You normally buy at least one domain name which points towards your hosting package.
Up time refers to the time that our servers are functioning correctly and your websites are visible on the Internet.

What payment methods do you accept?
At present, we accept two direct payment methods
Online payment with credit or debit card.
Bank Transfer
With all hosting packages(except email only), you can pay monthly or yearly. If you choose monthly, then you will be sent an invoice a week before payment is due each month.
As soon as payment is received through either of the above methods, then we will begin setting up your account.

If you would like a SSL certificate installing for your web hosting package, then please contact us and we will provide a quotation for you.
We can either setup the certificate for you or give you instructions for installing it manually
Can I have a unique IP address for my hosting package?
Yes
Normally, our sites are on a shared I.P address.
If you want your site to have its own unique address, then please contact us for a quotation
Why do I need web space, can't I just run my site from home or work?
It is possible for you to host your website at home or work
However, this is not advisable for a number of reasons...
- A lot of broadband providers do not allow you to host from home due to the connection bottlenecks it could cause. They may feel that just cause to terminate your contract
- You are responsible for making sure the computer hosting the website stays up and connected to the internet and remains secure and free from viruses.
- Companies providing web hosting services such as ourselves have multiple connections to the Internet allowing a high volume of traffic to all sites stored on our servers.
Therefore, why not leave the monitoring and administration side to us and concentrate on producing a great looking site!

What scripting languages and databases are included in my hosting package?
Your package supports the following programming languages

You can use any web editing tool of your choice.
Databases
Depending on your hosting package level, you will have at least 1 MySQL database. This can be configured from your hosting control panel.
At present, we are not offering SQL Server databases, although this may change in the future.
What happens when my pay yearly hosting package is due for renewal?
A month before your hosting package is due for renewal, we will send you a reminder email.
You can then renew your package through your account management area which can be accessed from the menu on the left hand side.
If the package is not renewed, we will continue to send reminder emails on a weekly basis until the package is renewed or you advise us that you no longer wish to renew the package.
If your package is not renewed by the expiry date, then it will be suspended for a further fortnight. After that, it is liable for deletion.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my hosting package?
You can upgrade your package at any time.
If you pay monthly then the price will simply change at the next month's payment
If you pay yearly, then you simply pay the higher price outstanding for the reminder of your contract.
Downgrading
You can downgrade your package at any time also.
If it is a monthly package, then the price will change at the next month's payment
If you on a yearly package however, then regrettably we cannot refund the difference between the two hosting packages.
I don't need my hosting package anymore, what should I do?
You can either just let it lapse by doing nothing or it would be appreciated if you let us know either via our secure helpdesk or by the cancel link in your account area
Once your package is cancelled, we cannot be held responsible for any content stored within it.
